BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Authorities in Alabama say a gunfight has led to one death and two injuries.

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office tells WBRC-TV that deputies responded to a shooting Monday at a business address in the Bagley community.

Police say an employee of the business exchanged gunfire with two other men in the parking lot. One man was struck in the chest and pronounced dead on the scene. The employee was struck in the back and transported to an area hospital with serious injuries. A third man, also suffering from a gunshot wound, was found walking near the business. Authorities said he was taken to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police were working to determine what prompted the shooting.
