NEW ORLEANS — A Louisiana man who authorities say sexually assaulted a woman as she was leaving a bar has been indicted. Times-Picayune reports 29-year-old James Young was indicted June 29 on charges of first-degree rape and purse snatching in connection with an attack on April 16.

The victim told New Orleans police that after she left a nightclub, a man approached her on the sidewalk. Authorities say the man sexually assaulted her, stole her purse and fled.

Police released a composite sketch of the suspect and later released surveillance video. Police have not said how they identified Young as the suspect.

Young was represented by an Orleans Public Defender for his Magistrate Court appearance. His bond is set at $1.5 million.
