WEST WARWICK, R.I. — A search is underway in Rhode Island for a man who state police say fled from officers and hit several unmarked police cruisers before fleeing on foot.

Authorities say troopers tried to arrest 27-year-old Vincent D’Ambra on Wednesday in West Warwick as part of an ongoing investigation. They allege D’Ambra fled, striking cruisers as he drove off.

Authorities say D’Ambra’s car then hit another vehicle and a building. They say he jumped out of the car and left the scene on foot.

Police say he was last seen wearing teal-colored shorts and a white, sleeveless T-shirt.
