PHILADELPHIA — Officials say a 12-story apartment building in Philadelphia had to be evacuated after a fire broke out on the second floor.

Smoke was visible from the roof when firefighters were called to Walnut Square building in Center City at 7:20 p.m. Wednesday.

The blaze was reported under control around 8:20 p.m.

No injuries have been reported. Several blocks in the area were closed to traffic.
