LOS ANGELES — Three people have been injured in an underground vault explosion in Los Angeles.

Fire Department spokeswoman Margaret Stewart says one person injured in the Friday afternoon incident was taken to a hospital with injuries that are not life-threatening. Two others being evaluated on the scene are not expected to be hospitalized.

Stewart says the incident on Beverly Boulevard did not involve fire, and the building appeared to have only cosmetic damage.

The city Department of Water and Power is on scene.
