NEW CASTLE, Del. — Police in Delaware say they’ve charged a 22-year-old man with a shooting in New Castle.

The New Castle County police department previously said in a statement that they were called to Georgetown Apartments on Thursday evening for a shooting and that when they arrived they found a man and woman with gunshot wounds in a parked vehicle. Police said the two had non-life-threatening injuries.

Police said Friday in a statement that they’ve determined that Clement Taylor, a passenger in the front seat of the car, was handling a gun and fired. Police say the bullet hit his hand and the 18-year-old female driver’s thigh. Police say Taylor has been charged with multiple offenses including reckless endangering and providing false statements to law enforcement.
