MERIDIAN, Miss. — A man has been found guilty of arson and murder in the death of his 83-year-old father.

WTOK-TV reports a jury found 25-year-old Victor McBeath guilty of first-degree arson and first-degree murder in the death of 83-year-old Ozie McBeath on Thursday. The jury deliberated for about two hours.

In November 2015, responding officers found Ozie McBeath dead in his burning home. Ozie had been shot in the head. Victor was later found in the woods behind the home.

Victor McBeath will be sentenced Monday. He could receive life in prison for the murder and up to 20 years in prison for arson.
