NEW YORK — Police have arrested a 34-year-old dancer and choreographer on sexual assault charges after a teenage girl said she was raped at Manhattan hotel.

The 17-year-old girl told police she fell asleep in a room following a night of drinking at the Maritime Hotel. The New York Daily News reports that she slipped in and out of consciousness and realized the man was raping her. She said she tried to leave but he’d fallen asleep in front of the door. Police responded at about 5:30 a.m. Sunday.

Bijan Williams was arrested on charges of rape and unlawful imprisonment. His arraignment was pending it wasn’t clear if he had a lawyer who could comment on the charges. A call to his management company wasn’t returned.

Police say the two knew each other.
