PINETOP-LAKESIDE, Ariz. — Navajo County Sheriff’s officials say the body of a Concho man has been pulled from Scotts Reservoir in Pinetop-Lakeside after an accidental drowning.

They say 31-year-old Jeffrey Charles Fabian Jr. had been drinking before going into the water Monday evening.

Witnesses say Fabian was highly intoxicated and they called 911 to report a disorderly subject.

They tried to keep Fabian from going into the reservoir over concerns that he could drown.

However, witnesses told authorities that Fabian entered the lake by the boat dock and went under water and didn’t resurface.

Rescue crews say Fabian was later located and brought back to shore, where he was pronounced dead.

The body has been transported to the medical examiner’s office in Flagstaff to determine the exact cause of death.
