KINGMAN, Ariz. — Mohave County Sheriff’s Office detectives have shot and killed a man in Golden Valley.

The Kingman Daily Miner reports (http://bit.ly/2tNJJ5C ) the man shot Tuesday was wanted for questioning in connection with a drug search warrant conducted earlier in the day.

The man fled in a vehicle when detectives attempted to make contact. He then stopped in a field and began to run away.

The Sheriff’s Office states the man fired a gun at the detectives as they closed in on him, so detectives fired back.

The detectives involved were uninjured in the incident.

Bullhead City Police Department is conducting the investigation into the shooting.
