BILLINGS, Mont. — A man whose body was found behind a convenience store in Poplar earlier this month was beaten to death.

The Billings Gazette reports (bit.ly/2vdNxgk) 34-year-old Errol Longee, 18-year-old Angela Longee and 67-year-old Darren Simons are charged with felony murder in the death of Patrick Wayne Mitchell.

A fourth suspect, 30-year-old Tamara Red Eagle, is charged with solicitation involving murder. The FBI says they have made their initial appearances in Fort Peck Tribal Court.

Court records say Angela Longee was talking with Mitchell about a prior sexual assault and began punching him. Errol Longee admitted punching Mitchell about a dozen times while Simons told officers: “I killed him,” and told them to talk with Red Eagle.

The case is being investigated by Fort Peck Tribal Police and the FBI. It also could be filed in federal court.
