ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A Rochester city judge who was sent to jail for violating conditions of her drunken driving conviction has been released.
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office says City Court Judge Leticia Astacio was released Thursday morning from the county jail.
The 36-year-old judge had been locked up since June 5 when another judge rejected her plea deal and sentenced her to 60 days in jail plus three years of probation and six months with an ankle monitor. Her jail time includes the days she spent behind bars before her sentencing.
Astacio was charged with driving while intoxicated in February 2016. She was convicted of DWI last August.
Astacio was jailed last month after skipping a court-ordered drug test and taking an extended vacation in Thailand.
