COLLINS, N.Y. — Authorities say they’ve charged a 32-year-old man in a fatal shooting at a western New York trailer park.

The Erie County sheriff’s office said Thursday that a deputy responded Wednesday night to reports of shots fired at the Spring Wood Trailer Park in the rural town of Collins, about 25 miles south of Buffalo.

Officials say the deputy saw Brandon White in the doorway of a trailer and ordered him to come out. He was then taken into custody.

The deputy and a state trooper entered the trailer, where they found 46-year-old Anthony Chipman dead from a gunshot wound.

White was charged with manslaughter. He’s being held at the county holding center pending his arraignment Thursday. It couldn’t be learned from officials if he has a lawyer yet.
