SAN PEDRO, Calif. — Authorities say rescuers were unable to revive a woman who passed out while diving in Los Angeles.

The Los Angeles Times reports ( ) the woman was driving Saturday off the coast of San Pedro when her partner saw she was unresponsive while she was underwater.

U.S. Coast Guard Petty Officer Mark Barney says after the Coast Guard tried to revive the woman with CPR, the Los Angeles County Fire Department took her to a hyperbaric chamber on Santa Catalina Island.

An investigator with the Los Angeles County coroner’s office, Anthony Lopez, says the diver was pronounced dead Saturday, Her name has not been released.
