Man faces molesting charge

A 19-year-old Bartholomew County man faces a child molesting charge in connection with an incident involving a 13-year-old girl on July 1, police report.

Holden Reece Warren of Columbus was arrested on Sunday afternoon and booked into the Jackson County Jail in Brownstown on the Level 3 felony charge at 1:40 p.m. Sunday, according to Jackson County Officer Rob Henley’s report.

Warren had been working with a caterer at a hog roast at a residence in the western part of the county when he had sex with the girl.

A Level 3 felony is punishable by three to 16 years in prison if convicted.

Warren was being held on $5,005 bond on Monday afternoon. That bond was set after his initial hearing on Monday morning in Jackson Circuit Court, where Judge Richard W. Poynter set his trial for 8:30 a.m. Dec. 19.
