HARVEY, La. — Two Louisiana men have been arrested after authorities say they killed a man and injured a baby after opening fire on a car.

Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office spokesman John Fortunato says 21-year-old Darryl Landers and 22-year-old Akiem Harris were arrested Friday and charged with first-degree murder and five counts of attempted first-degree murder. The charges stem from a July 24 shooting that killed 18-year-old Israel Davis and injured a 1-year-old.

Nola.com/The Times-Picayune reports witnesses told investigators Davis had an exchange with a man and got into a car, which took gunfire as it left

Authorities say at least one bullet shattered the back windshield, hitting Davis in the head. The glass hit the infant, who suffered minor injuries.

It’s unclear how the suspects were identified or if they have lawyers.
