Harold F. Behrman, 96, of Columbus, died peacefully in his sleep Monday, July 31, 2017, at Willow Crossing.

Mr. Behrman was a graduate of Columbus High School. Harold retired from Cummins as an engineer after 42 years of employment. He was a member of Gold Key Kiwanis, Exchange Club and St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, where he sang in the choir for several years. When he was younger, he also worked with the Boy Scouts community service activities.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Mildred Behrman; son, Tom Behrman; and brothers, Melvin, Victor and Ralph Behrman.

Survivors include his loving daughter, Pam (Lester) Moorman of Columbus; grandchildren, Tony Behrman of Michigan, Leslie Behrman of North Carolina, David (Becky) Behrman of Columbus, Minta (Rob) Johnson of Texas and Zach Scofield of Michigan; great-grandchildren, Brittny (Chris) Dold of Indiana, Alex, Chris and Nick Hitchman, all of North Carolina, and Ella and Maddie Johnson, both of Texas; great-great-grandchildren, Mia and Brody Dold, both of Indiana; siblings, Lester Behrman of Westport and Marjorie (Ken) Vogt of Columbus; daughter-in-law, Sheila Behrman of Columbus; and his best friend of nine years, Lucille Blauvelt of Columbus.

Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 4, 2017, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 719 5th St., Columbus, with Pastor Mark Galligar officiating. Burial will follow at Garland Brook Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm Thursday at Hathaway-Myers Chapel and one hour prior to service time Friday at the church.
