A workshop on invasive plants will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Aug. 15 at the Wilson Park Shelter House, 2211 Denson Ave., Bedford.
Instructor Cheryl Coon, a botanist with the Hoosier National Forest, will have samples of several invasives, which people have possibly planted available and will recommend native alternatives to plant.
Some invasive plants are relatively harmless, but others are a menace to our environment. Learn which plants are problems and what to do about them.
Coon also will explain how these invasives affect our area parks and woodlands.
