RALEIGH, N.C. — A third man has been arrested in the shooting death of a man in North Carolina’s capital city last week.

Raleigh police spokeswoman Laura Hourigan said in a news release Tuesday that 19-year-old Xzavier Dawu Murrell has been arrested and charged with murder, armed robbery and conspiracy.

Murrell is charged in the Aug. 1 shooting of 21-year-old Taheem Ivory Lassiter. He died in a Raleigh hospital early Aug. 2.

Two other men, 18-year-old Cresyan Tyrek Scurlock and 19-year-old Eric Lamont Dillard were arrested last week. Scurlock faces the same charges. Dillard is charged with armed robbery and conspiracy.

Murrell is being held in the Wake County jail. It was not known if he has an attorney yet.
