MCLAUGHLIN, S.D. — Authorities have identified a McLaughlin teenager who died after a one-vehicle crash in northern South Dakota’s Corson County.

The Highway Patrol says 16-year-old Daimon Ducheneaux was a passenger in a sport utility vehicle that went off South Dakota Highway 63 and rolled in the ditch. The crash happened about 4:30 a.m. on Aug. 1, about 2 miles north of McLaughlin.

Ducheneaux died later at a hospital in Bismarck, North Dakota.

The 17-year-old boy driving the SUV suffered what authorities say were serious but not life-threatening injuries. He also was taken to a Bismarck hospital.
