Hattie Belle Henderson Collins-Carmichael, 81, of Seymour, IN, passed away on Wednesday, August 16, 2017 in Schneck Medical Center. Hattie was born on August 31, 1935 in Sparksville, Indiana, the daughter of the late Russell and Lula (Huffman) Henderson.

She graduated from Shields High School in 1953, and also attended Ivy Tech. She retired from Cummins Diesel Engine Company.

Hattie was a member of First Church of the Nazarene (The Point), Women of the Moose, American Legion Post #89 Ladies Auxiliary, Fraternal Order of Eagles Ladies Auxiliary and VFW Post 1925 Ladies Auxiliary.

She is survived by her daughter, April J. (Ronald) Burton; son, Rick D. (Brenda) Collins; sisters: Betty Ross and Jill (Dan) McDaniel; brothers: Gary L. (Diane) Henderson and Lonnie Henderson; daughter-in-law, Anna Collins Mauk, sister-in-law, Dorothy Henderson, 9 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and special friend, Dianne M. Henderson.

Her parents and husbands, Kenneth “Babe” Collins and Max Carmichael; son, Kenneth Russell Collins; brothers: Joseph, Robert and John Henderson; sisters, Beverly Sue Henderson, Maxine Shaffer and her husband Bill and sisters-in-law, Mary Frances Henderson and Lovel Henderson preceded her in death.

Funeral service will be held on Monday, August 21, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Michael Weiler, officiating at Burkholder Funeral Chapel. Visitation will held from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home and from 10 a.m. until time of service on Monday.
