Jack Lee Goforth, 76, of Brownstown, passed away on Thursday, August 31, 2017 surrounded by his family at Schneck Medical Center, Seymour.

Mr. Goforth was a life long member of Clearspring Baptist Church. He was a self-employed carpenter, plumber and electrician. Mr. Goforth was a family-oriented man. He was an avid fisherman and loved taking family fishing trips to Canada. He also had a love for horses and Bid Euchre games.

Born on March 25, 1941, he was the son of Lawrence and Mary Brewer Goforth, both of whom preceded him in death. On October 19, 1963, he married Dora Mae Cheeks and she survives.

Survivors also include one brother, Larry (Judy) Goforth of Norman; three sisters: Joyce Barrett of Frankton; Marilyn (Joe) Bond of Norman; and Norma (Jack) Sanderson of Kenansville, Florida; 25 nieces and nephews; and 30 great nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Goforth was also preceded in death by a sister, Mary Jane (George) Fleming, brother Bill (Rose) Goforth and brother-in-law, Jack Barrett.

A grave side service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, September 3, 2017 at Houston Cemetery with David Sawyers officiating.

Memorials may be given to Clearspring Baptist Church.
