HAMPTON, N.H. — The first of two 18-wheeler trucks filled with donations for Hurricane Harvey victims set out from New Hampshire on Sunday.

The truck drove out from the 401 Tavern in Hampton heading to Houston. The Portsmouth Herald reports the organizers say (http://bit.ly/2eANJjk ) the truck was carrying at least $400,000 worth of goods for hurricane victims.

The drive was organized by the 401 Tavern’s owners, Dan Lanio, his wife Paula Stanca and resident Shannon Keane. According to Keane, donations to the truck have come from individuals and local companies like Timberland — who donated $40,000 in boots and clothing.

The first truck is expected to reach its destination, a Houston church approved to receive donations by federal officials, by Tuesday. A second truck will leave either Thursday or next Monday.
