COLUMBIA, S.C. — Authorities say police called to a South Carolina home heard a gunshot and found a man and a boy dead.

Columbia Police Chief Skip Holbrook said investigators think the shooting Wednesday was an isolated incident.

Holbrook told reporters that officers who were called to the home heard a gunshot about the same time they arrived.

Authorities say the man and boy died at the hospital. Their names were not released, but Richland County Coroner Gary Watts says they were related to each other.

Officials say autopsies will be conducted Thursday.
