Charles William “Boot” Lane, 79, of Medora, passed away Tuesday, September 5, 2017, at Point Lake Village, Scottsburg, Indiana. He was the son of Maysel Lane Nowland, who preceded him in death. He was born on April 30, 1938, in Seymour, Indiana.

On November 17, 1979, in Paoli, Indiana, he married Elizabeth Hubbard and she preceded him in death on November 3, 2014.

He served in the US Army. He served as the town marshal of Medora. He worked at Child Craft in Salem, Indiana.

He is survived by three children, Maysel Castilla, New Mexico, Charleen Aquilera, New Mexico, and Charles Lane, Jr. New Mexico. There are several grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is survived by two brothers, Larry Brewster, Seattle, Washington, and John Brewster, Medora, Indiana. One sister survives, Nancy (Wilbur) Imlay, Medora.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Margaret Lane. He had three brothers, Marvin Lane, Jesse Brewster, and Mike Brewster, and three sisters, Agnes Lane, Catherine Hauck, and Dora Reynolds who preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held, Saturday, September 9, 2017, at 11:00 am at Hague Funeral Home, Medora. Officiating will be David Sawyer. Burial will be at White River Valley Cemetery. Friends may call from 10:00 am until time of service at Hague Funeral Home, Medora.
