Uniontown church hosting fish fry, sing

In celebration of 158 years of service to God, the congregation of Uniontown Baptist Church will be conducting a fish fry and gospel sing Sept. 16.

The fish dinner will be served from 4 to 6 p.m., with the gospel sing starting at 6 p.m. A freewill donation will be accepted for the fish dinner at the church at 2623 U.S. 31 South, Uniontown.

Since the 150th anniversary celebration in 2009, an acre of ground has been added to the east of the church property, a new septic system has been installed, new concrete handicap ramps were built, the parking lot has been enlarged, the sound room was relocated and upgraded, a see-through window to the nursery was installed and a baptistry was built. All were paid for without any debt incurred to the church.

A new roof and other improvements are being planned in the upcoming months.

Besides the 10 a.m. Sunday service, there is a prayer service from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, followed by Bible study from 7 to 8 p.m.
