Delbert Bowman, 94, of Vallonia, died at 5:55 a.m. Saturday, September 16, 2017 at Schneck Medical Center. He had been seriously ill for one week.

He was of the Baptist faith and a WWII Army Veteran. He worked and retired as a welder at Arvins Industries. He loved to play guitars and enjoyed hunting.

He was born November 7, 1922 in Clay County, Kentucky to the late Granville & Mary Elizabeth Cheek Bowman. He had lived in Jackson County for 68 years.

On November 29, 1945 he married Nolia Minton Bowman in Franklin, Indiana and she passed away on January 6, 2000. He is survived by four children, Evelene Ruddick of Seymour, Martha Ann Kiser of Sparksville, Walter Dale Bowman of Brownstown, and Ronnie G. Bowman of Haleysburg; nine grandchildren and several great and great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, 2 sons, Norman & Granville Bowman, six brothers and foursisters.

Funeral Services will be conducted Tuesday, September 19th at 2 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Home with Pastor James Rodriguez officiating.

Friends may call Tuesday from noon until service time at the funeral home. Burial will take place at the Vallonia Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to the Immanuel Lutheran Church or to the donor’s choice.
