YANCEYVILLE, N.C. — Authorities have charged a North Carolina man with murder in connection with the death of a man from a drug overdose.

Local media outlets report 63-year-old Robert Bruce Williams, who lives on the Alamance-Caswell county line, is charged with second-degree murder.

According to the Caswell County Sheriff’s Office, 21-year-old Reese Grant of Greensboro went to Williams’ home and purchased heroin on March 30. Grant died a short time later.

Autopsy results from the State Medical Examiner’s Office found cocaine, furanylfentanyl and ethanol overdose.

Williams is being held at the Caswell County jail under a $500,000 secured bond. It couldn’t be determined if he has an attorney.
