IOWA CITY, Iowa — Iowa City police are looking for a truck that reportedly drove through a red light and ran over a 13-year-old girl’s foot.

Police say the girl was crossing a street on the city’s east side shortly after 3:30 p.m. Monday when a white, eastbound semi ran the light and hit her. The truck did not stop and continued eastbound on U.S. Highway 6.

The girl says she recalls being spun around, but she was able to walk out of the intersection. She was taken to a local hospital with pain in her foot and scrapes on her leg and arm.

The girl was not identified.
