GARDNERVILLE, Nev. — A 54-year-old Gardnerville man has been sentenced to up to five years in prison after he pleaded guilty to a charge of statutory sexual assault.

Fredrick L. Clark will be eligible for parole after serving a quarter of his sentence in the case that involved a teenage girl.

Investigators say the victim told them Clark started having her model in “skimpy clothing” while he videotaped her at age 13. She said when she was 15- or 16-years-old he forced her to have sexual intercourse with him.

The Record Courier reports ( Clark’s lawyer tried to persuade District Judge Tod Young to order him to serve probation instead of prison during Tuesday’s sentencing hearing.

But the judge said prison would help serve as a deterrent so he doesn’t commit any similar crimes in the future.
