COLUMBIA, N.H. — Police in New Hampshire say a 35-year-old man died in a single-vehicle crash in the town of Columbia.

Police say the crash happened at 7:30 p.m. in the area of Carleton Hill Road on Saturday. They say the vehicle operated by Douglas Elliott of Colebrook struck a tree.

A ten-year-old child who was a passenger in the vehicle was airlifted to a hospital and determined to have injuries that were not life threatening. Police say the child is in stable condition.

The New Hampshire State Police are investigating the crash. They say alcohol appears to have been a factor.
