CONCORD, N.H. — A New Hampshire real estate agent has agreed to pay $5,000 to the seller of a house to resolve a complaint alleging that she falsified a water test report saying the well had elevated levels of arsenic.
The agreement regarding Linda Gray, of Greenfield, New Hampshire, doesn’t constitute an admission of liability.
The state’s Consumer Protection and Antitrust Bureau alleged that Gray, who represented the buyer of a house in Chesterfield, falsified the test. The state alleged that she allowed her client to secure a significant price reduction from the property seller.
The state determined the well doesn’t have elevated arsenic levels and that the water testing company didn’t perform an arsenic test.
Gray also agreed to pay civil penalties and reimburse the state toward the cost of its investigation.
