GOLD BAR, Wash. — Authorities say a 33-year-old Seattle man was killed when he fell into Wallace Falls near Gold Bar, Washington.

KOMO reports ( http://bit.ly/2fj3vzB ) that the man’s wife, , who was hiking with him, called 911 about 5 p.m. Sunday to say he had fallen over an embankment near a lookout about 2.4 miles (4 kilometers) up the trail from the Wallace Falls State Park parking lot.

The man’s body was recovered.

Crews also rescued the family dog that was down on a ledge from the falls.
