Now through May, professional dance instructor Carin Spalla will be offering beginner and intermediate ballet classes at Southern Indiana Center for the Arts, 2001 N. Ewing St., Seymour.

Thirty- and 45-minute sessions for children 5 and up will be offered from 4:15 to 7 p.m. Wednesdays. A recital will be conducted in May for the public to attend.

Arts center members pay $20 per month for a half-hour class and $30 per month for a 45-minute class.

Spalla has 25 years of teaching experience and has danced with the Milwaukee Symphony, Opera Company and Mid-America Dance Theatre. She is classically trained in Russian ballet techniques and has training in jazz, lyrical, tap and modern dance.
