CARMICHAELS, Pa. — A former borough manager who police say stole nearly $75,000 from the municipality she worked for is heading to trial.

The Observer-Reporter says ( ) Brandi Wydo-Streit, of Carmichaels, waived a preliminary hearing on Monday in Greene County. Wydo-Streit had previously been charged with 89 counts each of forgery and theft by unlawful taking.

Police say the former Carmichaels manager forged 89 paychecks for herself between 2012 and 2016. According to prosecutors, the borough’s bank account was frozen last year because of the thefts.

Authorities say Wydo-Streit acknowledged the thefts her last day at work on Sept. 21, 2016.

An attorney for Wydo-Streit declined to comment on the charges.
