SEYMOUR, INDIANA

Frederick ‘Fred’ Joseph Schlatterer, 76, of Seymour, passed away on Tuesday, September 26, 2017, at his home. He was born on April 14, 1941, in Seymour, to Frederick ‘Fritz’ and Lorene (Tuggle) Schlatterer.

On June 28, 1961, he married Louise Matern, she survives. He was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church. He enjoyed being outside fishing, gardening, camping, and mushroom hunting. He also enjoyed NASCAR racing, playing cards and was an IU fan. He was a volunteer for the Knights of Columbus. He loved his bees and animals. He worked as a body repairman.

He is survived by his wife, Louise Schlatterer; children, Debi (Donnie) Schlatterer Wilson, Kevin Schlatterer, Alica Schlatterer Blacklidge, and Joy (Bobby) Schlatterer Beaty; Poppy’s grandchildren, Isaac, Lauren, Alexander, Ethan, Noah, Eric, and Grace; great grandchildren, Isaac and Jeremiah; and brother, Steve (Greta) Schlatterer.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and a son-in-law, Dale Blacklidge.

Funeral Mass will be on Saturday, September 30, at 9 am at St. Ambrose Catholic Church with Father Dan Staublin officiating assisted by Deacon Mike East. Burial will follow at St. Ambrose Catholic Cemetery.

Family and friends may call at Voss & Sons Funeral Service on Friday from 4-8 pm. Rosary service will be on Friday at 3:45 pm.
