Cougars tame Lions

LOOGOOTEE

Trinity Lutheran swept Loogootee 25-22, 25-22, 25-22 Friday.

Hannah Sabotin led the Cougars with 12 kills and Bailey Reynolds added nine.

On top of 24 digs, Ashley Goecker had two of the Cougars’ three aces.

Courtney Barker tallied 24 assists for Trinity.

The Cougars (15-11) host South Decatur Monday.

Pioneers sweep Braves

CLARKSVILLE

Class 4A No. 3 Providence defeated former sectional foe Brownstown Central 25-15, 25-18, 25-11 Thursday.

Keeli Darlage and Claire Pace led the Braves with nine kills each and Brooklyn Snodgrass recorded 16 digs for BCHS.

The Braves (16-11) host Salem Thursday.

GIRLS SOCCER

Cougars blank Saints

Trinity Lutheran ended their regular season with a 5-0 victory against Indianapolis Lutheran Thursday.

Maddie Bell scored off a corner kick from Flossie Cooper and Savanna Setty netted a goal to give the Cougars (6-7-1) a 2-0 lead at half.

Chloe Criswell scored the Cougars’ next two goals, and Bell added another before the final whistle.

In goal, Vidalis Montanez recorded five saves for the Cougars.

Trinity Lutheran will play Southwestern (Hanover) Thursday in the semifinals of the Class A Providence Sectional.
