The Brownstown Public Library board of trustees plans a public hearing at 5 p.m. Oct. 17 to consider adoption of the 2018 budget.
The proposed budget is $574,059, which includes a general fund of $533,422; a rainy day fund of $12,637; and a library fund reserve of $28,000. The maximum amount of funds to be raised through property tax revenue is $303,659, up from $219,742 this year.
The board’s regular meeting will follow at 5:15 p.m. The agenda for the regular meeting includes consideration of a quote for LED lights.
Board meetings are open to the public and press. The meetings will be in the conference room of the library, 120 E. Spring St., Brownstown.
