Braves compete in tournament

CARMEL

Brownstown Central finished 1-2 at the Carmel Invitational Saturday.

The Braves defeated Pike (25-6, 23-25, 25-6), but fell to Bellmont (20-25, 27-25, 17-15) and Noblesville (26-24, 25-14).

In the win, Addie Wilkerson and Keeli Darlage each totaled six kills for the Braves while Brooklyn Snodgrass had 21 digs.

Brownstown (19-12) will play the winner of Salem and Charlestown Saturday at the Class 3A Sectional 30 (Silver Creek).

Cougars go 2-1 at invite

EDINBURGH

Trinity Lutheran swept Greenwood Christian and Edinburgh, but fell to Hauser in three sets Saturday at the Edinburgh Tournament.

The Class A No. 5 Jets topped the Cougars 23-25, 25-14, 25-7.

Trinity (19-13) will play the hosts, Edinburgh, Saturday in the semifinals of the Sectional 62 draw.
