The Loyal Devoir Society of Central Christian Church in Seymour met Sept. 24 at the church.

President Paula Stafford called the meeting to order and thanked Group 4 for serving as hostesses.

Lucy Dembek and Wanda Gray gave the devotions. The minutes from meetings in June and August were read and approved.

Betty Guinn gave the treasurer’s report and read thank-you notes from the family of Emma Aikman and one from Helen Horton. The treasurer’s report was approved.

Bonnie Koontz announced she had Christmas cards and two-year planners for sale.

Retia Murphy was sent a card while in the hospital.

Under old business, Linda Rumph reported the Christmas dinner will be at 6 p.m. Dec. 5 at The Pines.

A motion was made and passed for the society to give donations to Mental Health America of Jackson County and Hoosier Christian Village for Christmas.

A motion was made and approved that the society buy kitchen supplies that are missing. Dembek and Janice Brock will purchase these.

A basket of items will be put together for the new pastor.

Stafford welcomed a new member, Annette Waldkoetter.

The meeting closed with the Mizpah Benediction.
