SEYMOUR, INDIANA

Max Lafferty, 86, of Seymour, passed away on Monday, October 09, 2017, at Meadow View Health & Rehabilitation in Salem. Max was born on February 16, 1931, in Jennings County, to the late William and Mildred (Foist) Lafferty. In July 1953, he married Doris Young, she preceded him in death in 1975. In June 1985, he married Ruby Cantrell, she also preceded him in death. On December 14, 1994, he married Lorene M. Keller, she survives. Max retired in 1975 after 22 1/2 years of service from Arvin Industries. He was also employed with Pardieck’s Inc. for 4 years, Laws Electric in Florida for 17 years, and one year with Merrill Electric in Largo, Florida. He also worked in the maintenance and electrical department at Knights Inn for several years.

He is survived by his wife, Lorene Lafferty; son, David (Kim) Lafferty; stepchildren, Susan Basil, Ray Jones, and Jeffery Jones; grandson, Dustin Lafferty; step grandchildren, Stephen (Christina) Jones, Ryan Jones, Amber Smith, Michael Smith, Alisha Basil, and Savannah Basil; 7 step great grandchildren; and sisters, Lucy Engel, Debbie Jo Hutchens, and Betty Lou Manning.

He was preceded in death by his parents; first and second wives; brothers, Robert Lafferty and John Lafferty; and stepchildren, Cindy Phillips and Paul Jones.

Funeral services will be at Voss & Sons Funeral Service on Friday, October 13 at 2 pm with Rev. Samuel Allman officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery.

Family and friends may call at Voss & Sons Funeral Service on Thursday from 4-8 pm and on Friday from 1 pm until time of service.
