Sandi Hall showed pictures and described her recent trip to the Canadian side of Niagara Falls when Pine Ridge Extension Homemakers met Sept. 26 at Trinity United Methodist Church in Seymour.

Hostesses were Hall, Carolyn Krieger and Mary Ann Seaney, who is president of the club.

Seaney presided over the business meeting. Yearbooks were distributed and completed.

Marge Patman gave the citizenship lesson, reading a clipping that described how the 1942 Jackson County Fair was canceled because of World War II. She also recalled how school buses picked up county residents for school ballgames to save gas by individuals driving cars.

Seaney gave devotions by reading a poem, “The Beautiful Color of Love.”

A dessert course was served. Seaney received the hostess prize.

The next meeting will be at 1:30 p.m. Oct. 24 at First Presbyterian Church with Carol Wait as hostess.
