Seymour native Whitney Pottschmidt and the University Symphonic Band of Concordia University, Nebraska, will perform its fall concert at 7 p.m. Tuesday at St. John Lutheran Church in Seward, Nebraska.

The wind ensemble and symphonic band both will be playing throughout the evening.

The program includes three marches: “Barnum and Bailey’s Favorite,” “On the Mall” and “Circus Day.” Also featured will be Carmen Dragon’s arrangement of “America the Beautiful,” Samuel Hazo’s “Ride” and “Pirates of the Caribbean.”

Andrew Schultz is conductor of the symphonic band.

The University Symphonic Band was formed in 1906 and is the oldest continuing musical organization at Concordia. The ensemble places emphasis on sacred, multicultural and contemporary literature and traditional concert band repertoire.
