MEDORA

Irene May Smith, 96, of Medora, Indiana, passed away on October 15, 2017, at IU Health Bedford, Indiana. She was born June 25, 1921, in Helena, Montana, to Clarence Reed and Flossie (Nesbit) Reed, both of whom preceded in her in death.

Irene was married to Florin Smith and he died in June 1993. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Medora Christian Church. She loved flowers, needlework, crochet, and sewing.

She is survived by her step grandchildren, Joy Verbeke, Columbus, Indiana, Bill (Lorene) Smith, Florida, Janice Rose, Freetown, Indiana, and Jane Baker, Columbus, Indiana. She is survived by several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by a step grandchild, Steve Gray. Two brothers preceded in death, Steven Reed and John Reed and one sister, Hazel Sevier.

Funeral services will be held Friday, October 20, 2017, at 2:00 pm at Hague Funeral Home, Medora, Indiana. Minister will be Rev. Stan Thomas. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery, Brownstown, Indiana. Calling will be Friday, October 20th, at Hague Funeral Home from 10:00 am until time of service. Memorials may be given to the American Heart Association or Fairview Cemetery, Brownstown, Indiana.
