A Crothersville man died Tuesday afternoon when the truck he was driving left the road, went over a guardrail and overturned on an embankment on State Road 135 in northern Washington County.

Matthew L. Bobb, 47, was pronounced dead at the scene by an official with Washington County Coroner’s Office, according to a report from the Indiana State Police Post at Sellersburg.

Sgt. Jerry Goodin, the post’s public information officer, said Bobb was driving a white 2005 Chevrolet truck owned by Wright Implement of Seymour north at about 4:10 p.m. when the wreck occurred approximately 1,000 feet south of West Goat Hollow Road.

The reason why the truck left the east side of road remains unknown, according to a preliminary report from Trooper Tyler Matthew.

Matthew, who is leading the investigation, was assisted by officers with the Washington County Sheriff’s Department, firefighters and first responders from Washington County and personnel with Washington County Emergency Medical Services.

Goat Hollow Road is located in far northern Washington County near the Jackson County line and homes and businesses in that area have Vallonia addresses.
