Bill and Rose Elmer of Brownstown will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary with a trip to Gettysburg and Lancaster, Pennsylvania.

They were married Oct. 19, 1957, at Zion Lutheran Church in Ferndale, Michigan.

The couple have three children, Vicki Elmer of Detroit, Michigan; Lori Hall of Lansing, Kansas; and Ben Elmer of Orlando, Florida; 10 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

He retired after a career as an automotive and truck designer.

Rose retired as a church secretary. She continues to volunteer with St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Brownstown and at Cougar’s Den Resale in Seymour.

The couple love to travel and have visited Europe more than a dozen times and Mexico and Central America a half dozen times. They visited Canada; their honeymoon trip was to Montreal. They now are turning their attention to the United States.
