Betty Lee Scarlett Perry Adams, 91, of Brownstown, died at 9:20 a.m. Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at the Hoosier Christian Village. She had been ill for 2 years.

She was baptized at Vallonia Christian Church. She was a Homemaker and for 2 years worked as a Home Health Care provider. She enjoyed quilting and doing yard work.

She was born on October 4, 1926 in Hoopston, IL to the late Edgar Vern Scarlett and Flossie Mae Bridgewater Scarlett Lane. She lived all of her life in Jackson County. On October 25, 1943 she married Willie Perry and he preceded her in death.

Survivors include 3 daughters, Pat Perry of Seymour, Bonnie Perry Myers of Ohio, and Fran Wright of Commiskey; grandchildren, John & Jeff England, Tricia Kepple, Kevin & Derek Gray, Anna Gray Thompson, & Regina Perry; numerous great grandchildren & nieces & nephews; one brother, Steve Scarlett of Brownstown, sisters, Pearlita Rush of Paris Crossing, Alice Elkins of Brownstown, Marlene Perry of Vallonia, Sue Sommers of Brownstown, Marge Climer of Waynesville, & Naomi Branson of Brownstown.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Chester Perry, brothers, Blaine, Edgar Jr., Billy, Mike, & Irvin Scarlett, one sister, Beverly Scarlett Wilkerson, and one grandson, Jeremy Perry.

Graveside services will be conducted Friday, October 20th at 1:00 p.m. at the Vallonia Cemetery with Paul Huddleston officiating.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested that people show an act of kindness to others.

Arrangements are being handled by Johnson Funeral Home, Vallonia.
