Library adds Netflix on Kindle Fire devices

The Jackson County Public Library has added Netflix to stream movies and television shows to 10 Kindle Fire devices that are preloaded with adult, young adult and children’s e-books and apps for all ages.

Each device checks out for three weeks with one renewal free with an Evergreen Indiana library card. Adults and anyone younger than age 18 with parents’ permission are limited to one device at a time. All devices also have been updated with newer e-book titles.

Interested library cardholders can place a hold on a specific Kindle Fire through the Evergreen Indiana catalog by doing a keyword search for Kindle Fire tablet or by contacting the Seymour, Crothersville or Medora library. Each item record lists the e-books preloaded on the device.

The Kindle Fire devices were originally purchased in 2015 with a $9,500 Library Services & Technology Act grant supported by the Institute of Museum and Library Services and administered by the Indiana State Library.
