Paul E. Kovert, 97, a lifelong resident of Crothersville, IN, passed away at 6:40 AM on Sunday, October 29, 2017 at Covered Bridge Health Campus in Seymour, IN.

Born August 24, 1920 in Crothersville, IN, he was the son of Henry and Lula (Peters) Kovert. Paul was a 1938 Crothersville High School graduate, attended Franklin College, and served in the Army of the United States during WWII.

He was a retired carpenter of Kovert Brothers Residential Builders, where he worked with his father and brothers. He was a member of Immanuel United Church of Christ, the Masonic Lodge in Crothersville, and the Scottish Rite in Indianapolis.

He served on the Crothersville School Board in the 1960’s and on the Schneck Hospital Board. Paul enjoyed watching sports, working puzzles, traveling, and spending winters in Florida. On November 29, 1949 in Crothersville, he married Berna Lee (Crawford) Kovert, who passed away on Tuesday, May 10, 2016.

Survivors include, 2 sons, Hal E. (Glenda) Kovert of Jeffersonville, IN and Rex (Peggy) Kovert of Crothersville, IN, 5 grandchildren, Kara Kovert of Indianapolis, IN, Krista (Jeff) Thompson of Jeffersonville, IN, Kallie (Dustin) Roller of Crothersville, IN, Kassie (Fiance Matt Mickel) Kovert Evansville, IN, and Kory Kovert of Crothersville, IN, 1 great grandson, Allen Paul Roller of Crothersville, IN, and 1 Brother, Lester (Joyce) Kovert of Crothersville, IN.

He was also preceded in death by a brother, Lawrence Kovert.

Pastor Bud Walther will conduct funeral services at 11:00 AM on Friday, November 3, 2017 at Immanuel United Church of Christ with burial to follow at Crothersville Cemetery where military honors will be conducted. Friends may visit on Thursday, November 2, 2017 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Adams Family Funeral Home & Crematory in Crothersville and after 10:00 AM on Friday at church.
