Signs going up on State Road 135

The Indiana Department of Transportation will install advance warning and curve signs along State Road 135 in Brown and Jackson counties over the next several weeks.

Once completed, operations shift to State Road 56 in Jefferson and Switzerland counties.

On Monday, curve signs and visibility improvements began on State Road 135 between State Road 46 and Mt. Nebo Road in Brown County.

Next week, signs will be installed on State Road 135 between County Road 1000W in Brown County and County Road 680N in Jackson County.

Then from Nov. 13 to 15, sign installation will be on State Road 135 South to County Road 300N.

On Nov. 15 and 16, sign installation is planned for State Road 56 between Brooksburg and State Road 129 in Jefferson and Switzerland counties.

These schedules are tentative and could be impacted by inclement weather.

INDOT advises motorists to drive with caution where installation crews are working.

Shambaugh & Son of Fort Wayne is the contractor for this $122,770 advance warning sign project.

Approximately 300 signs will be put in place to alert motorists of curves ahead.
